As some of you know, I’ve been working hard behind the scenes to publish a second novel. I’ve also been trying to make connections in the writing sphere and improve my craft using various methods. My readers deserve the best see, and one of the ways I am doing this is trying to attend as many forums and writing courses as I can. One such beneficial event is the Iceland Writers Retreat. I bumped into the event as I did my online research on writing conferences. And as you can probably guess, I want to go!

About the Iceland Writers Retreat
Held for the first time in April 2014, the Iceland Writers Retreat is an event comprised of a series of small-group writing workshops and cultural tours designed to introduce participants to Iceland’s rich literary heritage. Faculty in 2018 include Hilton Als, Hallgrímur Helgason, Priya Basil, Susan Shreve, Terry Fallis, and Gwendoline Riley. Four Seasons Magazine named the Iceland Writers Retreat one of the top 10 “Events to travel for in 2014” and named one of the world’s best writers’ retreats by the Sydney Morning Herald.
This is an incredible opportunity for me to hone my skills. I’d have the chance to learn from world-class faculty and meet fellow authors from around the world. The chance to interact with a new exciting culture and make connections with writers from around the world is a massive plus. As a budding author, I want to make this a reality for me. I can become a world-class author for my readers. So what can you do? Well, the cost of the retreat is quite expensive (ISK 208,000) and that’s where I need your help.
I will channel all the proceeds from every book purchased during the months of October and November to cover the cost of the Retreat. By my estimation, above 300 hardcopy books would be enough to send me to Iceland. The number sounds ominous, I know, but the value of the retreat is immeasurable. Please help me reach my target.
